Hello! I joined in search of Delenn costume help. However I'm not finished watching the series, I'm unemployed, and I don't even know how to sew yet. So it's going to be a while before I'm going to delve into anything complicated. I *do* own a sewing machine, but I need to learn how to use it.
Anyways, I think Delenn's cloths are so beautiful and she is too!
I'm in the middle of the 3rd season right now.

Hello and welcome!
I've been way behind on reading community entries but I wanted to welcome you :) Better late than never, hey?

Delenn's clothes are all amazing. Do you have a favourite in particular?

Hmm.. there's the velvety green dress with brown sleeves and gold-ish trim. Very pretty. She wears that one a lot. The white dress she wears in the series finale is gorgous. She wore that type of dress a lot and some color combinations were better than others. I like the greens and the purples.

I'm still in research mode on her. I think I can get away with modifing my Arwen patterns (funnily enough) for some of her robes. It's just finding the material for them is the hard part for me. Especially the (I think) pink/blue or something like that she wears in season 2-3. It just baffles me.

As for sewing. Just find some scrap material and jump in. That's the best way usually. There aren't too many tricks to it unless you start getting really fancy. Basicly if you can follow a straight line (or semi straight in my case) you can sew. The machine does everything for you. You just hold the material (making sure hands and hair are out of the way! Yes, I have sewn my hair into a dress before when I wasn't paying attention.) and push the pedal. But just play around, read your manual if you have one with your machine. Just get to know what it can do.
